The title of her address is “In Defence of Canada: Trust, Sovereignty, and Nation Building in Uncertain Times”, followed by a question and answer session.

Her talk will expand on her statement

“We find ourselves in a time of unprecedented global instability, with fundamental shifts in the global economy, while trade relationships, international agreements and defence structures are under threat. Canada faces a perfect storm of serious challenges at home and abroad.

Canadians are losing confidence in our economic structures, federal institutions and the rule of law. Trust in the government and the very concept of a nation state is eroding and for the first time Canadians fear that tomorrow will not be better than today.

Federal leadership matters now more than ever. We must act with a sense of urgency to regain the trust of Canadians, re-establish our sovereignty and nation build to position Canada for the next century. In defence of Canada – our country is at stake.”
